Refrigerated Delivery for Restaurants, Cafes and Caterers in Brisbane

Chilled and frozen deliveries into restaurants, cafes, pubs and catering kitchens across Brisbane and South East Queensland, planned as multi-drop runs around each kitchen’s receiving window.

We deliver chilled and frozen food to restaurants, cafes, pubs, caterers and quick-service kitchens across Brisbane and South East Queensland. Most of this work is multi-drop: one refrigerated vehicle, several kitchens, and a narrow receiving window at each one before service starts.

This page covers how those runs are planned, the temperatures that apply, which vehicle suits a kitchen delivery and what we need from you to quote.

Who uses refrigerated foodservice delivery in Brisbane

Our foodservice customers are usually the businesses supplying kitchens, or kitchens moving their own stock. Common jobs include:

  • Food manufacturers and commissary kitchens sending prepared food out to venues.
  • Wholesalers and distributors who need extra refrigerated capacity for their drops.
  • Caterers moving chilled food from the kitchen to a venue or event.
  • Restaurant and cafe groups transferring stock between sites.
  • Dairy, beverage and frozen suppliers delivering direct to hospitality customers.

Runs cover the Brisbane CBD and suburbs, and extend down the M1 to the Gold Coast and up the Bruce Highway to the Sunshine Coast.

How a multi-drop kitchen run is planned

A multi-drop run is sequenced by receiving window first and by map second. A cafe that opens early goes before a restaurant that only takes deliveries mid-morning, even if the restaurant is closer.

The load is then packed in reverse drop order, so each kitchen’s order is at the door when the truck arrives. That matters because every door opening lets warm air in, and a Queensland summer makes it worse. Industry cold chain guidance is to keep doors closed between drops and open them for as short a time as possible.

Delivering before service: windows and access

Kitchens want stock in the cool room before prep begins. Tell us the window for each drop and we plan the run around it. If a window cannot be met because of distance, traffic or the drop before it, we say so at quote instead of on the day.

Access decides the vehicle. Our refrigerated van is kerbside friendly and carries one pallet equivalent, up to 1 tonne. The small truck carries 2–4 pallets and can work narrow streets. Both are listed on the fleet page. For each drop, let us know:

  • The receiving window and who will sign for the delivery.
  • Where the vehicle can stop: loading zone, laneway, dock or kerb.
  • Any height limit, stairs or lift between the vehicle and the cool room.
  • Whether the order is cartons, crates or a full pallet.

Typical carriage temperatures for foodservice products

A refrigerated vehicle maintains temperature. It is not designed to chill warm food down, so product needs to be at temperature before it is loaded. Our guide to chilled and frozen transport temperatures explains the rules in more detail.

Most kitchen orders mix chilled and frozen lines. A multi-temperature vehicle holds both in separate zones behind a movable bulkhead, so one delivery covers the whole order.

Urgent top-ups and same-day deliveries

A supplier shorts an order, a function books late, a cool room fails. We run urgent refrigerated transport across South East Queensland, subject to a vehicle being available at dispatch.

Phone us for anything needed today. The office answers 8am to 8pm, seven days. Our article on same-day refrigerated couriers in Brisbane sets out what makes a same-day job possible.

Temperature records your kitchen can keep

We pre-cool the vehicle before loading and take calibrated probe readings at pickup and delivery. The readings are kept on file and supplied with the proof of delivery on request. Dispatch sends SMS or email updates at pickup, in transit and at delivery.

Your kitchen should check as well. A food business handling potentially hazardous food must have a thermometer accurate to ±1°C. Probe a sample at the door and record the time and temperature.

What to send for a foodservice delivery quote

  • Pickup address and the list of delivery suburbs.
  • Number of drops and the receiving window at each.
  • Volume per drop in cartons, crates or pallets.
  • Chilled, frozen or both, with the temperature each line needs.
  • Whether it is a one-off or a regular run.

We do not publish a rate card because the price depends on distance, the number of drops, vehicle size and timing. Contact us with the details above and we will quote the run.

  1. Q01
    Service

Can you deliver chilled food to my restaurant before service starts?

In most cases, yes. Tell us your receiving window when you ask for a quote and we plan the run around it. On a multi-drop run the order of deliveries follows each kitchen’s window. If a window is not realistic because of distance or the other drops, we tell you before you book.

  2. Q02
    Service

Do you deliver chilled and frozen food on the same vehicle?

Yes. A multi-temperature vehicle keeps chilled and frozen product in separate zones behind a movable bulkhead, so a mixed kitchen order arrives in one delivery. Tell us the split between chilled and frozen, and the temperature each line needs, so the zones can be set up before loading.

  3. Q03
    Service

Can you transport hot food for a catering event?

No. Our vehicles are refrigerated and hold between −25°C and +10°C, so they cannot keep food at 60°C or above. Catering food that will be served hot needs to travel chilled at 5°C or below and be reheated at the venue, or be carried hot by other means.

  4. Q04
    Service

How much does refrigerated delivery to cafes and restaurants cost in Brisbane?

It depends on the distance, the number of drops, the vehicle size and how tight the delivery windows are. A regular run is priced differently from a one-off urgent job. We do not publish fixed rates. Send the drop list and volumes and we will quote within 24 hours, often the same day.

  5. Q05
    Service

What size refrigerated vehicle do I need for a cafe delivery?

Most cafe and restaurant drops suit a refrigerated van, which carries one pallet equivalent up to 1 tonne and can stop at the kerb. A run with several larger orders may need a small truck carrying 2–4 pallets. Access at each address matters as much as the volume.
